The Wallace Inn

Wallace, ID

1 hr 15 mins from Pangaea

The Wallace Inn is my family’s favorite place to stay when we want a night away. Brooke and I bring our kids, swim in the pool, and walk the streets of this charming mining town. The mine tour is awesome, plus Wallace, Idaho sits minutes from the start of my favorite bike ride, The Route of the Hiawatha!

The Mullan House

Wallace, ID

1 hr 15 mins from Pangaea

The Mullan House is highly recommended by one of our guests, is very nice and the host, David, is very pleasant. David will cook up a breakfast to your specifications. It’s a great place to stay in Wallace and the best option for skiing at Lookout Pass, biking the Route of the Hiawatha or the east end of the Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes.

Forest Grove Campground

Superior, MT

Across the Street from Pangaea

Forest Grove and Big Pine (the campground below) are our two favorite campgrounds. Forest Grove doesn’t take reservations, but it is just across the street from the Pangaea River Store and it sits on the beautiful Clark Fork River. Camp and raft without ever getting into your car!

Forest Grove Campground

Quartz Flat Campground

Superior, MT

Across the River from Pangaea

Quartz Flat Campground sits just behind the Quartz Flat Rest Area. The campground is very large, can accommodate large groups and is conveniently located near Pangaea River Rafting.

Big Pine Campground

Between Superior & Alberton

20 mins from Pangaea

This is our favorite campground! It’s free, no water, pit toilets, and it’s right beside the beautiful, crystal clear Fish Creek, no reservations. This is the campground Brooke and I camped at all summer long when we first met.

Big Pine Campground

Trout Creek Campground

Outside of Superior, MT

30 mins from Pangaea

Trout Creek Campground sits in the woods, well away from the interstate and train tracks. The feel is more secluded, shaded and very nice. Managed by the Forest Service (note: reservations are no longer made here).

Trout Creek Campground

Sloway Campground

Superior, MT

approx 35 mins from Pangaea

My family’s new find- this campground is very large! We camped at Sloway on an overnight river trip with our children (4 & 5 at the time). You can’t hear the interstate, but the train does go by right across the river. We loved our stay and recommend it.
