Welcome to the float where fun meets Montana magic! Drift down the legendary Blackfoot River, the same one made famous by A River Runs Through It, on a laid-back adventure perfect for nature lovers, first-timers, and families with kids 3 and up. From April to August, this easy Class II scenic float offers crystal-clear water, wide-open skies, and plenty of chances to spot wildlife along the way.
Whether you’re in the mood to soak up the views or start a squirt gun battle, our expert guides have you covered. They’ll tailor the trip to your vibe with games, giggles, splash zones, or pure serenity. This isn’t just a raft ride. It’s your front-row seat to Big Sky Country, served with a side of joy.
Pangaea’s signature style of fun means no two trips are the same. We make mud puddles a blast, turn quiet moments into stories, and make sure everyone, young, old, or in between, feels like part of the adventure.

On Pangaea’s “Easy Scenic Float” you can choose between paddling or relaxing. If you choose not to paddle, your expert guide will row you through legendary country, pointing out Western highlights and pausing occasionally at the most picturesque spots on the river. Full day trips include lunch and several stops along the river, while the raft and blast trip has no lunch and no stops.
The main Blackfoot River offers outstanding scenery as it meanders through undeveloped river bottoms, occasional farmland, and secluded canyons. It’s an excellent area to see bald eagles, as several pairs nest along the river. Look for white-tailed deer, elk, sand-hill cranes, and various kinds of waterfowl.
You’ll see deer, eagles, beaver, and an occasional elk, moose, or bear as your cares drift away. This trip will relax, entertain, and inspire. This trip is the safest, driest option for those who want to enjoy the beauty of the river without the whitewater.
The Blackfoot River doesn’t have the kind of whitewater like the Alberton Gorge on the Clark Fork, but it does have milder rapids that you can blast through or avoid depending on your mood. Your guide will get you wet and entertain the kids if you want to introduce them to what whitewater rafting is like.
Perfect for the whole family, from the youngest of kids to active grandparents, eye-popping scenery and a mouth-watering lunch make the Blackfoot River in Montana unforgettable. Raft, float, and swim as ospreys and eagles soar overhead, and beaver, otters, and fish play beneath your raft. This trip is perfect for kids 4 and older and is a great mix of easy, scenic floating, two splashy class II waves, and plenty of time for relaxing or playing games. Squirt guns are included on every boat!

Pangaea recommends the Blackfoot River as an early summer river trip “if” the Clark Fork River runs too high in May or June. If the Clark Fork River flows are appropriate, Pangaea recommends the Clark Fork River as our premier rafting experience.
